Residential Academic Programs

Residential Academic Programs (RAPs) provide you with a shared learning and living experience in a community setting. Once admitted, you can look forward to:

  • Taking selected courses in your hall
  • Making friends who share your interests
  • Participating in educational and social events
  • Developing your own ideas in a small group setting

Baker Residential Academic Program

Offers lectures, field trips, and research opportunities for freshmen and sophomores interested in the natural or environmental sciences

Communication and Society Residential Academic Program

Communication classProvides a living and learning environment in Buckingham Hall which is designed around the theme of communication and society and allows students to explore the complex social problems and challenges of communication in contemporary society in seminar sized classes

Engineering Honors Residential Academic Program

Provides educational experiences that match the abilities and ambitions of some of the very best students at CU

Farrand Residential Academic Program

Focuses on the humanities and community engagement within the larger frame of society and culture

Global Studies Residential Academic Program (G-RAP)

Includes classes and programs with a global focus for freshmen pursuing international interests

Health Professions Residential Academic Program

Provides an academic community for freshmen and select sophomores who take common courses and participate in co-curricular activities designed around current topics and basic academic preparation for careers in the health professions

Honors Residential Academic Program

Is a community with small honors classes, symposia, and cocurricular activities for students in the College of Arts & Sciences Honors Program

Leadership Residential Academic Program

Houses the Chancellor’s Leadership Studies Program (CLSP) and the Ethnic Living and Learning Community Leadership Studies Program (ELLC), both of which focus on the study and practice of leadership for the purpose of educating culturally competent leaders who champion an ethic of civic and social responsibility.

Leeds Residential Academic Program

Is a targeted community, comprised of students majoring in business, seeking to build individuals who are well-rounded, prepared, engaged, and equipped to succeed in 21st century workplaces and take roles as global leaders.

Libby Arts Residential Academic Program

Is an artistic community offering courses in visual arts, theatre, dance, and film studies

Sewall Residential Academic Program

Offers classes, programs, and advising for students in all majors, focusing particularly on history and culture

Sustainability & Social Innovation Residential Academic Program

Offers courses and activities that center on sustainability and social innovation, focusing on collaborative problem-solving in the community and around the world

Sustainable by Design Residential Academic Program

Solar House Provides students enrolled in any course of study the opportunity to live in a creative, sustainable living environment while earning academic credit for their degree
