Norlin Scholar Business Scholarships
The Lesser family generously donated funds to support Norlin Scholars, some of which is designated for Colorado resident Business majors. We thus encourage current CU Business students, as well as high school seniors interested in Business, to apply. Please talk about your scholarly interests related to Business in your essay.
Norlin Scholar Learning Assistant (LA) Scholarship
Norlin Scholars can prepare for a career in academia, K-12 education or contemplative education by applying for a Norlin Scholar Learning Assistant Scholarship. Norlin LAs receive this special scholarship to work as a learning assistant in the Norlin Constructions of Knowledge class and serve on the LA team to plan and coordinate the SUEP Undergraduate Conference. Preferably students serve as LAs for two years but must re-apply for the second year. Norlin LAs must be in good standing in the program to apply and on track with Norlin requirements. Up to four scholarships will be awarded per year.
Morris Judd Norlin Scholar in Philosophy
Morris Judd was a University of Colorado Philosophy Professor wrongly accused of subversive activities during the McCarthy era. He subsequently was terminated as a professor. In 2002 University faculty and administrators honored him with a Boulder Faculty Assembly award and an apology for his termination. The Morris Judd Norlin Scholar is for philosophy majors and is meant to underscore the importance of:
- academic freedom
- personal integrity
- freedom of speech
