Boettcher Education Project

This project, unique to CU, is an integration of the Boettcher Foundation’s requirement that host colleges offer one cultural/social, one academic, and one service activity per semester (CU offers dozens more than that). Scholars volunteer at the bilingual Casey Middle School in several capacities. The service experience is enhanced by dinner and discussion with educational experts once a semester, giving students an opportunity to learn more about the larger context within which they’re providing service at Casey Middle School. All Boettcher Scholars are invited to the dinners and discussion, regardless of whether they’re currently volunteering. The project requires volunteer coordinator(s) from the Boettcher Scholar community. Students in the Presidents Leadership Class may lead the project as a PLC walkabout.
